French recipe, french baker, made in LA with love

When Gaël moved to Los Angeles, he found himself missing the traditional desserts of his homeland. With a passion for baking, he decided to share his love for French cuisine by starting his own small home baking business, CanneLA. From his kitchen in LA, Gaël creates mouth-watering, authentic French cannelés that are delivered straight to the doorsteps of lucky customers. In this blog post, we'll explore the story behind CanneLA and what makes their desserts so special.

The Beginning of CanneLA

Gaël grew up in Paris but he spent a lot of time in the south west of France, where food was a central part of his family's culture. His grandmother was an exceptional cook who taught him the value of using high-quality ingredients and taking the time to prepare food with care and love. After moving to Los Angeles, Gaël found himself missing the comforting flavors and textures of his grandmother's desserts. He decided to take matters into his own hands and started experimenting in the kitchen.

His friends and colleagues were amazed by the Cannelés, French desserts he would bring to potlucks and gatherings. Encouraged by their praise, he decided to turn his passion into a small business. CanneLA was born.

The CanneLA Philosophy

At CanneLA, Gaël is dedicated to creating desserts that are true to their French roots. He uses only the best ingredients, including high-quality butter, fresh eggs, and pure vanilla extract. Every dessert is made from scratch and baked to perfection. There are no shortcuts in Gaël's kitchen.

CanneLA is committed to sustainability and the environment. Gaël sources his ingredients from local farmers' markets and shops, reducing the carbon footprint of his business. All packaging materials used by CanneLA are either biodegradable or recyclable.

The CanneLA Menu

CanneLA's menu is focused on traditional French desserts that are not commonly found in the United States. Some of the most popular items on the menu include:

Canelés de Bordeaux - These small, fluted cakes have a crispy caramelized exterior and a soft, custardy center. They are made with vanilla, which gives them a unique and delicious flavor. Canelés are a specialty of the Bordeaux region in France and are not widely available in the United States.

Delivery and Pickup

CanneLA offers both delivery and pickup options to its customers. You can place an order online and choose a delivery time that works for you. They currently deliver within a 15-mile radius of their kitchen in Los Angeles, which covers most of the city and some neighboring areas.

If you prefer to pick up your order, you can do so at their kitchen location. Just make sure to order in advance, as they don't have a storefront or walk-in
